MAP Family Handbook

Our family handbook incorporates everything you need to know once you are part of our program.  We kindly request that you read it when you join our program and suggest that you download it directly to your computer for easy access to when you have a question but please, if you can't find it, do not hesitate to contact Gaye Shannon, the Executive Director.

Everyone needs to know...

Absence:  If your child will not be attending MAP on his or her scheduled day, you must call your child's program site to let them know. The school does not inform MAP if your child is out.

Medication: All medication MUST be HANDED to a MAP educator in its original container with clear instructions and be accompanied by a completed Medication Consent Form authorizing MAP to give the medicine to your child. Medication of any kind should never come to school or MAP in a lunchbox or pocket. Please contact your child's Program Director about medication at MAP.

Snow/Emergency Closing Days: MAP will be closed when the Medfield Public Schools close due to snow or any other unplanned emergency. Sometimes due to surprise storms we ask that parents/guardians take into consideration their own driving safety as well as the safety of the educators. If MAP does close/attempt to close early we will notify you by email, post it on our web page, on the MAP Facebook page, and on Boston channel 7 news. In this case of an early closing, we will ask parents to pick up their child as close to that time as possible.

Extra Clothes:  (for programs at Memorial only)
Please send in a bag with extra clothes for your child in case of an accident or a spill. Include extra pants or shorts, a shirt, extra socks and underwear. The unexpected will happen and we want the children to be comfortable in their own clothes. We will store the clothes for the year, so please remember to pick them up at the end of the year.
